“Euzu Billahiminesheytanirracim”

BismillahirRahmanirRahiym

Rabbishrah liy sadriy; Ve yessirliy emriy; Vahlul ukdeten min lisaniy; Yefkahu kavliy; (Taha 25-26-27-28)

“My Rabb, expand my consciousness (my chest). Ease my task for me. Untie the knot in my tongue. So that they understand my words.” (Taha 25-26-27-28)

begin my lesson with this Qur’ani pray, my dear Qur’an friends. Today we will make a visit to a brand new site in Qur’an country.This sites name is AN’AM. This name has the meaning of big farm animals, cattles specifically. It is the reference for some behaviours that had done by Meccan heathens, how they attribute sacrecy to some animals how they called them untouchables and how they were treating these animals which are given to mankind for their use and names as good. Verses 136 and beyond are about these behaviours and traditions and their criticisms and denial.

Even there are some different opinions on this one, this chapter came at the last years in Mecca era. Althought some might think that a few verses points Madina era, when we look at the chapter as a whole, it has the marks of the last times of Mecca era just before the Hajira.

This chapters main sub-stream is with obvious motive, human-Allah relations. Just like many other chapters in Qur’an. Human-Allah relations and how it reflects the unity. That’s why this chapter studies Tevhid and criticise behaviours against this mentality extensively. It shows the real door to lean to, if humanity has been searching a door to knock and seek sanctuary. There’s a part at the end of this chapter, this part gives us, the muslims the oath that matters. Say; o you human who seek to fix his relations with Allah, his relations with things, his relations with himself. Say; Kul; inne Salatiy All my salat, (by all meanings, all my requests, wishes, prayings and desires) ve Nusukiy and all my worshippings, ve mahyaye ve mematiy all my life and death Lillahi Rabbil alemiyn; (En’am/162) shall by gifts to Allah the Rabb of all worlds.

With this celestial oath, one of the great Qur’ans chapters gates closes. That’s why we can say that this oath gives us the real meaning, the main stream of this chapter. Now we can begin this chapter.

BismillahirRahmanirRahiym

1-) Elhamdu Lillahilleziy halekas Semavati vel Arda ve cealez zulumati venNur* summelleziyne keferu Bi Rabbihim ya’dilun;

Hamd (the evaluation of the corporeal worlds created with His Names, as He wills) belongs to Allah, who has created the heavens and the earth, and formed the darkness (ignorance) and Nur (knowledge)… Those who incessantly deny the reality, equate (their illusory external gods) to their Rabb (the dimension of Names within their essence, and hence they live in duality)! (A.Hulusi)

Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Elhamdu Lillahilleziy halekas Semavati vel Arda ve cealez zulumati venNur Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light.

summelleziyne keferu Bi Rabbihim ya’dilun; Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord.

By entering the chapter, this verse carries the message of the entire chapter within, message to entire humanity and it says this. Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light. There’s not a single space unbound from Allah. You cannot think a single spot without Allah. Even darkness, emptiness is inconcievable without Allah, let alone light.

This is also an objection to all dualist beliefs resides in the place where Qur’an first touched, like the foundation of zoroasterism. These dualist beliefs separate the concept of god into two pieces. God of good and god of bad. According to zoroasterism Ehrimen (Ahriman) represents the creation of bad and Ahura Mazda is the creator of good. This belief finds some followers under different forms by different names in different places.

What meant to say here is this. There’s no perpetrator beside Allah. In this sense you cannot seperate like, creation into two pieces. So how can we explain darkness then? By looking at darknesses nature of course. Allah who made darkness and light, it means this. Existence and non-existence all come from Allah. Allah is the Rabb of all worlds which seem empty and non-existent to you but in reality they exist.

By your personal thoughts, you cannot evaluate something without Allah. This verse doesn’t draw an existence representing only darkness, superstition, blasphemy and non-beliefs. Because there’s no origin in darkness. Light has an origin, dark hasn’t.

How not? Darkness is defined by light. That’s why light has a source. If darkness had a source, it should be created by something different, a different creator. But there’s not. Only light has a source and darkness is the definition of the lack of light.

So blasphemy is the reflection of darkness into hearts. All things superstitious is the reflection of darkness against the light of truth. Evil is the dark form of creations against salvation and truth. It’s the lack of truth, lack of faith is the name of blasphemy. That’s why you cannot find blasphemy in places where faith sets its light. Just like when a light is set, darkness is broken. That’s why the origin of creation is single. By finding light we realize the darkness as well. By finding the good we understand evil, by finding Hakk we understand the boundries of superstition.

This verse also reflects the mood of Rasulallah’s era too. It draws the map of sould. Remember, it was the end of Mecca times. The time of Hejira was at hand. A turning point which was about to open a new age. A passing process from oppressed to the people in power. Prophet was about to reach the power but that’s why he was at the reach of its peak in pain. A prophet who was tried to be oppressed by his own community. This is the map of soul and a breath of fresh air for prophets spirit, these verses.

It also carries a reference to the future. Message to prophet is this. “They are labeled as non-existence. They are darkness. You are light. When you begin to light, they will disappear, you will see.”

Wasn’t that the exact scenario? When the time of Mecca’s conquest arrived, when Muhammad borned again at Mecca’s horizons, people who banished him from his homeland with tears, disappeared like they weren’t even existed in the first place in a few months. The name of shirq disappeared and never to be said again. It was darkness and once it was buried it never surfaced. This shows the power of light. If you give the light with such power, not only you cut through stones and rivers but through hearts and minds. It carries its light to following generations. It flows from land to land, widens and multiplies.

2-) HUvelleziy halekakum min tiynin summe kada ecela* ve ecelun musemmen indeHU summe entum temterun;

It is HU who has created you from water and clay, and decreed a span (specified time of bodily life)… The specified term of life is from Him… After all of this, you still have doubt. (A.Hulusi)

He it is Who created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is with Him another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves! (A.Yusuf Ali)

HUvelleziy halekakum min tiynin summe kada ecela* He it is Who created you from clay, and then decreed a span ve ecelun musemmen indeHU The specified term of life is from Him.

The word “life span” here needs an explanation. When I do my lessons I use 42 different translations. But even with all of them, sometimes I haven’t been convinced and have to do my own. This verse, especially this part is one of these times. Almost the entire old translators took this death as the death of individuals. There are some different opinions of course, few but consistent. Opinions from Kitabi, after that Katade and Abu Muslim El-Isfahani.

I believe death and lifespan here isn’t about the death of a person at al. Because the verse isn’t about people. HUvelleziy halekakum min tiynin He it is Who created you from clay. “You” here isn’t about some ramdom people, it’s the entire humankind. All humans on earth. That’s why lifespan or death here is about the end of humanity on earth. I thing it’s better be interpretted like this for the word death. So lifespan of humankind, the time period when mankind rule the earth can only be known by Allah’s knowledge. summe entum temterun After all of this, you still have doubt.

So what’s the intented message here? O humanity, your existence on earth isn’t eternal. You are not eternal.  If humankind is boud to leave the earth at some point, your existence on earth will surely be limited. You are just one person in that line and your line isn’t eternal. So why do you brag? People on earth owe Allah for their existences. So how can you brag against Allah whom do you owe your own existence? This is the underlying message here.

3-) Ve HUvAllahu fiys Semavati ve fiyl Ard* ya’lemu sirrakum ve cehrekum ve ya’lemu ma teksibun;

Allah is HU, in the heavens and on earth… He knows what is in your essence and what you reveal! He knows what you are earning (with your deeds)! (A.Hulusi)

And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. He knoweth what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He knoweth the (recompense) which ye earn (by your deeds). (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve HUvAllahu fiys Semavati ve fiyl Ard and the speech reached its supposed destination. And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. Indeed. Allah owns all heavens and earth.

Although there are close forms in many verses, this is the most clear and open one among them. Allah is HU, in the heavens and on earth. So in order to get an answer by this form, surely there were hesitations before. A question might be asked or a problem might be surfaced. This form comes as a direct response to that. There were some people saying, “Allah is the ruler of heavens, we understand that but I doubt Allah is also the ruler of earth.” This is their response. Allah is the owner, the ruler of all heavens and earth. As in, Allah hadn’t only created your existence, not just that. Allah also carries the right to rule and educate those He created. That’s why Allah is Fa’al. Always active.

..kulle yevmin HUve fiy she’n; (Rahman/29) Allah is always on business. As in not like a retired god mentality of sophist philosophy. Always active. That’s why fa’alun lima yuriyd; (Hud/107) Always keeps going as He wishes. Do what He wants to. This is important. Almost all heathens believe a higher power. They mostly do believe in a god, believe in Allah. But what makes them different is their belief for a distant Allah.

When you cast Allah out of your lives, when you cast your creator out of your systems and begin to live your live without rules, you begin to seek a new higher power without noticing. That’s how shirq surfaces. Three stages, shirq develops in a man. Three steps.

1-First you become distant from your creator. This is the first step of shirq. It starts with a single area. You force the creators will out of that area. You say, “What does Allah have to do with this thing anyway?” It’s just in your thoughts though, not in reality. You think you cast Allah out.

2-And then comes the second step of shirq process. What is that? Appointing another being to that spot you cast Allah out. That’s how one thinks.

3-This step comes naturally after all these. Giving the position of godhoof to that being. From that moment on, that being becomes the god of that particular spot. Of course like the entire process, this is not real, only in ones comprehension.

This is the peak of humanities decieving themselves and Allah doesn’t forgive this crime. Because many people commit this homicide all by themselves. By doing this they have been betraying their own creators, betraying the nature of beings, betraying their own beings. This is the ultimate betrayal.

ya’lemu sirrakum ve cehrekum He knows what is in your essence and what you reveal! ve ya’lemu ma teksibun He knows what you are earning.

4-) Ve ma te’tiyhim min ayetin min ayati Rabbihim illa kanu anha mu’ridiyn;

No sign (revealed or apparent) from their Rabb comes to them, but they turn away from it! (A.Hulusi)

But never did a single one of the Signs of their Lord reach them, but they turned away therefrom. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve ma te’tiyhim min ayetin min ayati Rabbihim illa kanu anha mu’ridiyn But never did a single one of the Signs of their Rabb reach them, but they turned away therefrom.

Actually this is a verse that gives away the timeless nature of blasphemy. This verse implies that blasphemy isn’t something new, denial is like a tradition for many and among the people who are addressed with this verse, those who deny its message aren’t doing something original. As in you are not the first to deny this. Blasphemy has a tradition so nothing you do is original. And since there’s an ongoing tradition for blasphemy there was and will be some people to lead it and these are my words for them says Qur’an.

Ve ma te’tiyhim min ayetin min ayati Rabbihim illa kanu anha mu’ridiyn But never did a single one of the Signs of their Rabb reach them, but they turned away therefrom.

5-) Fekad kezzebu Bil hakki lemma caehum* fesevfe ye’tiyhim enbau ma kanu Bihi yestehziun;

And now they deny what has come to them in Truth! But the news of what they ridicule is going to reach them soon. (A.Hulusi)

And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall come to them the news of what they used to mock at. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Fekad kezzebu Bil hakki lemma caehum* And now they deny what has come to them in Truth! fesevfe ye’tiyhim enbau ma kanu Bihi yestehziun but soon shall come to them the news of what they used to mock at. One of the constant signs of blasphemy is ridicule.

There are four signs of blasphemy;

1-Silence against truth. Ignoring the truth.

2-Mocking the truth. Undervaluing, underestimating the truth. Mocking it.

3-Attacking the truth, harassing it, attacking defenders of the truth.

4-Targeting the being of truth. Targeting the origin of truth and trying to destroy it. Indestructable, impossible to break and yet they always try to destroy it. Those who try to destroy the truth only destroy themselves. History has many examples about it.

So here, we see a sign of denial, one of the four classic signs, mocking. Why do people mock against the truth? Mocking as a coping mechanism comes from not taking seriously of ones self.It means they really cannot take themselves seriously to begin with. So what do they gain from this ridicule? Nothing really. And the consequence?These people only make themselves a matter of ridicule. This is one of the worst things a person can do to himself. Because Allah doesn’t take seriously of those people who don’t take themselves seriously.

This sign which is one of the most used signs of blasphemy throughout the history; by the time these verses arrived, heathens of Mecca, the commerce related society of Mecca was using it. That’s it was said to Rasulallah, the first base of revelations arrival, this. Don’t take this abnormal. This is indeed a followup to a long tradition. That’s why they keep mocking and soon their mockery will find them. This part is about to come now, let’s move on for now.

6-) Elem yerav kem ehlekna min kablihim min karnin mekkennahum fiyl Ardi ma lem numekkin lekum ve erselnesSemae aleyhim midrara* ve cealnel enhare tecriy min tahtihim feehleknahum Bi zunubihim ve enshe’na min ba’dihim karnen ahariyn;

Did they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them… (Moreover) unlike you, We had established them upon the abundant regions of the earth, and sent the blessings of the heavens upon them and made the rivers flow beneath them… (Nevertheless) We destroyed them because of their faults! And after them, We brought forth another generation. (A.Hulusi)

See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you – for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them). (A.Yusuf Ali)

Elem yerav kem ehlekna min kablihim min karnin Did they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them.

Dear Qur’an friends, Qur’an was making these warnings to Meccan community of that time but these warnings weren’t something new to them. Since many people on that region was in commerce, they were traveling on trading routes constantly and on those routes one had a pass over spots where Samut community, Ad community and Lut community had resided and faced Allah’s wrath. Meccan community had trade routes in Yemen, Syria, Palastine and throught there Egypt. These 3 routes had 3 painful examples for that. That’s why Qur’an says “Didn’t they see? They saw their fates with their own eyes, they saw the ruins of those socities.

 Actually this doesn’t have to be taken as a supernatural calamity. Almost every ruins of old civilizations carry some sort of lessons for future generations. Look at Istanbul’s Walls. Could those people who built those walls believe that one day calls of prayings will be heard from those stones, that mosques will be neighbours to those walls. They weren’t counting on that.

Allah reminds them this. If you reach to a level of social corruption and try to wage war against Allah, it will be enough to look at those ruins. You can see that all those civilizations who think their reins will be eternal and now wind is blowing one their lands. They were empires, what are you? Many empires came and pass before you. Many civilizations were built on earth. Some of theirs names were forgotten. Almost all of them are lost to winds. Only a few of them had a few remains in museums. So take a lesson from that. It should be enough.

mekkennahum fiyl Ardi ma lem numekkin lekum unlike you, We had established them upon the abundant regions of the earth, ve erselnesSemae aleyhim midrara* and sent the blessings of the heavens upon them ve cealnel enhare tecriy min tahtihim and made the rivers flow beneath them. feehleknahum Bi zunubihim ve enshe’na min ba’dihim karnen ahariyn (Nevertheless) We destroyed them because of their faults! And after them, We brought forth another generation.

The word “karn” in this verse has several meanings. It both has the meanings of time and generations lived on that time. Widest meaning is civilizations. Societies. Many civilizations came and passed. So why would one bow down to other socities in these times? Countries rise and fall faster that ever. In mere 250-300 years almost the entire worlds map changed. So why this attitude of surrender. You may see that one day there might be nothing but winds on those lands. So why won’t you adjust yourselves to the eternal and try to hold yourselves back with temporary? Eternal is Islam’s principals that are constant values of humanity. Temporary is other civilizations fake values.

No man can look at himself from a wide perspective like this. Only Allah reminds people with something like this. Because we are taught that small things hold no reasons to be happy or sad, when we decide something in our lives we should keep in mind all those people lived before us on earth and how will there be people after us.

This wonderful perspective, Qur’ans point of view is something to be admired really. Which text can provide such a great perspective to humanity other that Qur’an?

7-) Ve lev nezzelna aleyke Kitaben fiy kirtasin felemesuhu Bi eydiyhim lekalelleziyne keferu in haza illa sihrun mubiyn;

If We had sent down a (written) scripture to you, and they had touched it with their hands, the deniers of the knowledge of the reality would surely have said, “This is none other than obvious magic.” (A.Hulusi)

If We had sent unto thee a written (message) on parchment, so that they could touch it with their hands, the Unbelievers would have been sure to say: “This is nothing but obvious magic!” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve lev nezzelna aleyke Kitaben fiy kirtasin felemesuhu Bi eydiyhim If We had sent down a written scripture to you, and they had touched it with their hands… so there was a request like this back then. A written text. Though Qur’an never arrived in text form, remember it was a verbal message. A verbal message that were carved in Rasulalallah’s heart. Text came after that. But if Qur’an had arrived in text form, as in some pen and paper or such form and they had touched it  lekalelleziyne keferu in haza illa sihrun mubiyn Unbelievers would have been sure to say: “This is nothing but obvious magic!”

You see right, the nature of blasphemy never changes no matter which era it surfaces. Denial is the most harsh, mosr irrational and most scary form of prejudice. That’s why the prejudice of an unbeliever is like a Wall made of the hardest metal on earth. This is the reason why it’s never the same thing an unbeliever can get from Allah’s message with a believers gain.

It’s your right to ask a question like this. If denial is a prejudice, isn’t faith a prejudice also? I answer you promptly. Faith is a prologue an introduction, prejudice isn’t. The faith Qur’an wants doesn’t come without knowledge. Blasphemy depends on ignorance, faith to knowledge. Ingenuinity without faith is impossible. Ingenuinity also means doesn’t believing something without knowing. You only believe what you know. That’s why if the logic of understanding the revelations is set on faith, it finds a firm ground to rise. You cannot understand revelations with the logic of denial, if you know what I mean.

😎 Ve kalu lev la unzile aleyhi melek* ve lev enzelna meleken lekudiyel emru summe la yunzarun;

They said, “An angel (that we can see) should have been sent down”… But if We had revealed an angel as such, the matter would have ended; no further time would have been given to them. (A.Hulusi)

They say: “Why is not an angel sent down to him?” If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve kalu lev la unzile aleyhi melek They say: “Why is not an angel sent down to him?” Demands didn’t finish. First they asked a written text that they can touch. Allah responded to that. Nothing will change. This message is for believers, not people who maket his demand. O believers do you understand the nature of blasphemy now? They ask absurd things, unnatural things, but in reality these things won’t be a way out to faith for them. They won’t be able to accept it.

Why is that? How can a person become convinced without knowledge if he keep rejecting the things without it? Revelations offer a knowledge about themselves. The purpose of revelations is humans happiness. This celestial message isn’t about introducing Allah, it’s about introducing the human nature to people. Surely there are plenty of verses about Allah. But not the entire message is about Allah either. The message as a whole is about humans. That’s why some cannot find it suffice for themselves and ask for something extraordinary when the message explains them about themselves. So, it comes to this. “You don’t act with your mind and will. Because you seek supernatural things for your senses instead of the message that addresses your minds.” What will happen if you continue on doing that? Let’s see.

ve lev enzelna meleken lekudiyel emru summe la yunzarun If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them. Remember this is a warning that we saw in previous chapters. It’s also a warning we will see in chapters like Ra’s, Jonah and Joseph.

What’s been said here? If an angel arrived, they still wouldn’t believed. All for the reasons we learned. But if an angel arrived, its for the executation of Allah’s order for penalty as per the celestial law. Because when a miracle is given, the consequence of leaving that miracles path as a penalty is also given. Punishment is the bill of miracle. Yes, the moment they stop believing, the bill comes due. Check out the penalty of Lut Clan, Salih Clan, Ad and Semud Clans. Then you understand. That’s why prophets usually be warned for their communities asking for miracles.

For the same reasons Rasulallah also knew, he insistingly stand against his communities asking for miracles. Because he didn’t want the same thing happen for his community. Rasulallah was against this from the beginning because he knows well that the path will end with wrath and destruction. He always hoped that a few people in this generations find faith and this should go by this path. Qur’an also makes the same warning frequently.

9-) Ve lev cealnahu meleken lecealnahu raculen ve lelebesna aleyhim ma yelbisun;

If We had made Him (the Rasul of Allah saw) an angel (for you to see) We would still have made him in the form of a man to make them fall into the same doubt-dilemma that they are in now (whereupon they would have said, “he is just a man like us”). (A.Hulusi)

If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man, and We should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve lev cealnahu meleken lecealnahu raculen If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man. Maybe the intention is about the prophet. As in to the questions of people like “Why don’t an angel prophet arrive instead of a human prophet?” This looks like an answer to this question. Qur’an says; “If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man.”The name Raculen in literal form has two meanings, Used for men, it has the meaning of a great man; used for women it has the meaning of strong and reliable woman. This word isn’t used without making gender specification but it make its mark on the concept of power. This is not only a deliberately used expression to make mark of gender specification, but also a word sting to heathens twisted faiths.

They see angels as daughters of Allah. This is a reference. But the message can be something like, “If we Had sent an angel to you, it wouldn’t be in a womans form as you expected.”

ve lelebesna aleyhim ma yelbisun; and We should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion. This is the main punch. How? Qur’an brings a reasonable objection. As always Qur’an addresses to human minds. Allah respects humans mind, humans will. But here a reasonable confusion is pointed out, a conflict also created by humans mind.

If angels arrived on earth, they would also be in human form. Because you cannot be able to see them in their true form. They are the creatures of a different dimension, one that cannot be seen by human eyes, percieved by human perception. If they arrive, they would come in human form, they should since that’s the only way humans can see them. But this time it wouldn’t be true for your twisted goals, because you would have a ground to object again. You will call them humans, not angels. Just like you didn’t believe the prophet, you wouldn’t believed the angels that sent to you. Because you don’t look the content of things. You couldn’t realize that Muhammad which is one of you and was chosen as a prophet be Allah because of his virtue. You think you are able to notice an angel with this perception of yours?

10-) Ve lekadistuhzie Bi Rusulin min kablike fehaka billeziyne sehiru minhum ma kanu Bihi yestehziun;

Indeed, many of Our Rasuls were also mocked before you! But those who mocked were enveloped by their own mockery! (A.Hulusi)

Mocked were (many) messengers before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve lekadistuhzie Bi Rusulin min kablike Indeed, many of Our Rasuls were also mocked before you!  It was mentioned 3 verses ago this mockery situation of previous prophets. fehaka billeziyne sehiru minhum ma kanu Bihi yestehziun But those who mocked were enveloped by their own mockery! fehaka billeziyne sehiru minhum being enveloped by their own mockery!

This is the spot I was making references to, dear friends. Here the picture of a scene is drawn. The situation at hand is explained for the time of the verses arrival and a herald is given for the future. As in those who mocked will be enveloped by their own mockery!

Here we see Mecca. The conquest of Mecca. Here we see Badr, Hudeybiye. We even see today. And the readers of Qur’an today, the believers of these modern times shall see the future by reading these verses. Future. Are they mocking you? Rest assured, those who mocked will be enveloped by their own mockery!

The truth shall take its value from the followers of that truth. But even no one accepts a truth, that truth is still valuable. Because this valus comes from El Hakk. Even no person believes in Allah on earth, Allah is Aziyz. And that truth shall find you eventually. But if you believe and follow the truth not only you make more sense in your existence but also make amends with your relations with Allah, and this returns to you in the form of happiness. This is the mission of revelations.

11-) Kul siyru fiyl Ardi summenzuru keyfe kane akibetul mukezzibiyn;

Say, “Travel through the earth and see the end of the deniers (of the reality).” (A.Hulusi)

Say: “Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul siyru fiyl Ardi Say, “Travel through the earth summenzuru keyfe kane akibetul mukezzibiyn; and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth. Like we said before, one can easily take the lesson of truth by looking at the ruins of old civilizations.

12-) Kul li men ma fiys Semavati vel Ard* kul Lillah* ketebe ala nefsiHIr rahmete, le yecmeannekum ila yevmil kiyameti la raybe fiyh* elleziyne hasiru enfusehum fehum la yu’minun;

Say, “To whom belongs the things in the heavens and the earth (forms which have come from a state of nothingness into ‘relative’ existence in order to manifest the meanings of the Names)?” Say, “To Allah!” He has decreed His Grace (the creation of the worlds based on His Rahman quality) upon His Self. He will surely gather you in the period of Doomsday, about which there is no doubt! Those who have put themselves in loss will not believe! (A.Hulusi)

Say: “To whom belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth?” Say: “To Allah.” He hath inscribed for Himself (the rule of) Mercy. That He will gather you together for the Day of Judgment, there is no doubt whatever. It is they who have lost their own souls, that will not believe. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul li men ma fiys Semavati vel Ard Say, “To whom belongs the things in the heavens and the earth? Here we are informed again about the owner of the existence. Ask them.

In Qur’an this question comes frequently. Why the need of attention to the owner of all things in heaven and on earth? It’s for this. O human the category of existence which you are also in it belongs to Allah. So why do you rebel so much, why do you betray so much? Why do you break the universal chorus, why the cracked sound. Join this chorus and adapt. Establish your cosmic flow otherwise you become a chaos in this cosmos. As a center of chaos, you are the only one that lose. Don’t be a cosmic anarchist.

Allah has a definition of terror and anarchy. Those who break the cosmic harmony are defined as cosmic anarchist in Allah’s list. That’s the reason of this reminder. The truth of the owner of all things in heaven and on earth and anything in between.

kul Lillah* ketebe ala nefsiHIr rahmete Say: “To Allah.” He has inscribed for Himself, the rule of Mercy.

After a question like that, the arrival of this sentence has a deeper meaning, dear Qur’an friends. To Allah who take mercy as principal.

This form comes here and 54th verse. Very interesting. Also a similar form comes in Araf 156. ..ve rahmetiY vesiat kulle shey’.. As in, My blessing surpasses all, surrounds all.

So why? Why does Allah make a definition for Himself like this. For all the names and adjectives that which Allah choose to describe himself, the attributes of mercy and blessing are dominant, not the wrath feature. That’s why the Allah’s blessing surrounds all things in existence. Because of this mercy, things exist. So by that mentality if we read the first sentence of this verse and make a connection to the next, we might understand the reason of why the existence concept is mentioned here.

[Vektub lena fiy hazihid dunya haseneten ve fiyl ahireti inna hudna ileyKE, kale azabiy usiybu Bihi men esha’* ve rahmetiY vesiat kulle shey’*  (‘Araf/156)

“And decree good things for us both in this world and the eternal life to come… Indeed, we have turned to You”… He said, “I afflict whom I will with My wrath… My grace encompasses all things! I will decree it for those who protect themselves, who give alms, and who believe in the reality, in Our signs.” (A.Hulusi)]

 The answer for the question of, “Do you know why I had created earth, heavens and humans?” is this. “For my mercy. I gave my blessing to existence. I had created all these to show my mercy and compassion. You are the product of my mercy.” This is important. That’s why the word Mercy has all the meanings of, compassion, closeness, pity, protection, claiming and respect. Because we are talking about Rabb. Allah pities humans, loves them, shows compassion to them, educates them.

 This is important. Making it exist is the first form of blessings manifestation. Choosing one among the existence and give it life, this is the second manifestation. Giving mind to one among the living, this is the third. And giving willpower to one among the people who have mind, this is the fourth and giving the power of faith to one among the people who possess willpower, this is the fifth manifestation of blessing. So after all these blessings, if one still pull himself back from gratitude, doesn’t that attracts the wrath of Allah. But Allah still doesn’t do that. Why? Because Allah’s blessing surpasses His wrath. Allah forgives thousands of times because of that mercy.

le yecmeannekum ila yevmil kiyameti la raybe fiyh* He will gather you together for the Day of Judgment, there is no doubt whatever. elleziyne hasiru enfusehum fehum la yu’minun; It is they who have lost their own souls, that will not believe.

I choose to translate the part elleziyne hasiru enfusehum as those who lost themselves, the literal form. This expression finds its place in many languages. Those who lost themselves cannot find faith.

This is the problem. The possibility of losing yourselves before denying the faith. One shall find himself before he understand the faith. A believer is the one who find himself, who meet himself as a whole.

Can a man meet himself before finding himself? Or can a man be at peace with himself without knowing who he really is?

See how psychological problems surfaces one after another. In fact faith has the power to solve all these problems because you will find yourselves, you will meet yourselves and by that you will meet your Rabb. This is a process. All these things point to one exact truth. Faith is the journey of finding a persons own self. That’s why I always tell, faith is not an addition, it’s an operation.

13-) Ve leHU ma sekene fiyl leyli vennehar* ve HUves Semiy’ul ‘Aliym;

Ve leHU ma sekene fiyl leyli vennehar* Whatever is in the night and the day is for Him! ve HUves Semiy’ul ‘Aliym; For He is the One who hears and knows all things.

14-) Kul egayrAllahi ettehizu veliyyen Fatiris Semavati vel Ardi ve HUve yut’imu ve la yut’am* kul inniy umirtu en ekune evvele men esleme ve la tekunenne minel mushrikiyn;

Say, “Shall I befriend (by imagining one) other than Allah, the creator (and programmer of all things according to their specific functions) of the heavens and the earth, who provides to maintain and subsist their existence, but who is Himself not in need of anything?”… Say, “I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit to Allah” and do not ever be of the dualists! (A.Hulusi)

Say: “Shall I take for my protector any other than Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? And He it is that feedeth but is not fed.” Say: “Nay! but I am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah (in Islam), and be not thou of the company of those who join gods with Allah.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul Say, egayrAllahi ettehizu veliyyen Fatiris Semavati vel Ardi “Shall I take for my protector any other than Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth?

Ask this question to yourself. Or to the person who offers you another friend than Allah, “Can that being give what Allah promise me? Can you give me what was promised to me by Allah? Can I earn the things that I am promised for Allahs companionship, from your so called friends.” Ask them and ask yourself. This question is important because you draw your line of life based on this questions answer.

ve HUve yut’imu ve la yut’am And He it is that feeds but is not fed.

So what is the meaning of this, dear friends? All those fake idols, they need those who worships them. They take their power, stature, dignity from those people who worship those idols. It’s this. Only Allah doesn’t need the pride and honor of his worshippers. Quite the opposite, Allah is the one who give honor to people who follow Him.

Fake idols… Look at them and look at their worshippers. They need constant attention, they need to be fed. They need bathing, cleaning, you have to share your income with them. These idols don’t need to be physical too, some idols are spiritual or even non-existent at all, like modern ones. All things that bind you and drain you for your own desires are idols and their need of attention is constant and never ends.

But Allah… Allah doesn’t need anything, doesn’t need you. That’s why giving something godhood other than Allah kills the capacity of human. That’s why. By giving another being a stature of deity, can and surely will destroy that persons entire spiritual investments. This is the ultimate insult of a man to do himself. The real bankruptcy of a person.

kul inniy umirtu en ekune evvele men esleme ve la tekunenne minel mushrikiyn Say, “I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit to Allah” and do not ever be of the dualists!

15-) Kul inniy ehafu in ‘asaytu Rabbiy azabe yevmin aziym;

 Say, “Indeed, if I disobey my Rabb, I fear the suffering of the mighty Day (period)!” (A.Hulusi)

Say: “I would, if I disobeyed my Lord, indeed have fear of the Chastisement of a Mighty Day. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul inniy ehafu in ‘asaytu Rabbiy azabe yevmin aziym; Say, “Indeed, if I disobey my Rabb, I fear the suffering of the mighty Day.

16-) Men yusraf anhu yevmeizin fekad rahimehu, ve zalikel fevzul mubiyn;

He from whom (suffering) is averted in that time, has definitely been blessed with Allah’s grace! That is the clear liberation! (A.Hulusi)

“On that day, if the penalty is averted from any, it is due to Allah’s Mercy; And that would be a Mighty Triumph. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Men yusraf anhu yevmeizin fekad rahimehu On that day, if the penalty is averted from any, it is due to Allah’s Mercy.

So what is this, dear Qur’an friends. What is the meaning of this? Paradise is not the reward of your actions. It’s only and only a reward from Allah’s mercy. Don’t think you may enter paradise solely for your actions. No one can earn paradise. But by your actions you prove yourselves to Allah that you lived your life based on Allah’s desires, Allah’s choices and Allah’s orders. Remember, some people work for his entire life and still unable to buy a nice home near waterfront. How can a person think that he can easily earn paradise? How can a person think he deserve that prize that is beyond words with his sometimes right sometimes wrong choices filled life. No paradise is a reward from Allah’s mercy as per the verse explains.

..sevaben min indillah.. (Alu Imran/195) A reward from Allah’s domain. ..vAllahu indeHU husnus sevab. The most beautiful of gifts come from Allah.

So the message here is this eternal truth. Hell is the response of Allah’s justice. Heaven is the response of Allah’s mercy. And heaven is both a response and a prize. A prize given by Allah to people who stand firm on his ground, who keep following Allah’s path. A reward from Allah and Allah rewards with His terms. Not like a person, that’s why heaven is a prize beyond words.

ve zalikel fevzul mubiyn; That is the clear salvation. So the main goal isn’t the heaven. Paradise is the proof of a superior goal. A person who reach paradise is the one who realize that he is indeed saved. Salvation is the main goal here, happiness. That’s why the expression el fevz here means eternal happiness, salvation, joy, liberation and many similar positive concepts. And eternal salvation is the follow-up of this proof.

17-) Ve in yemseskallahu Bidurrin fela kashife lehu illa HU* ve in yemseske Bihayrin feHUve ala kulli shey’in Kadiyr;

If Allah subjects you to adversity, there is no one to remove it other than HU (in your essence)… And if Allah subjects you to good, the endower of good is also HU, the One who is Qadir over all things. (A.Hulusi)

“If Allah touch thee with affliction, none can remove it but He; if He touch thee with happiness, He hath power over all things. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve in yemseskallahu Bidurrin fela kashife lehu illa HU If Allah touch you with affliction, none can remove it but He. If Allah subjects you to adversity, not “harm you”. Allah doesn’t harm. Allah only pulls back protection, harm comes naturally after that. If a person loses Allah’s support, extra harm becomes irrelevant. Because we owe our existence, our stance, honor, purpose, meaning all to Allah. If one loses Allah, that person loses all of these.

This is also carries a warning to Rasulallah, first person addressed with this verse. Remember the last year in Mecca. Rasulallah had reached his end of sea. He was saying, “I’m done o Rabb, I’m finished.” As per the verse explained, all believers either escaped to Madina or Ethiopia. Every dependable soul is gone and the circle keeps smaller everyday, many scenarios, many rehearsals were on play to end Rasulallah’s life. This is the verse that came to Rasulallah back then. A nice picture of the situation, isn’t it. An answer to Rasulallah and his state of mind of that time. Allah says, “Don’t be afraid. Who can harm you?” and the verse continues.

ve in yemseske Bihayrin feHUve ala kulli shey’in Kadiyr if Allah touches you with happiness, He has power over all things.

18-) Ve HUvel Kahiru fevka ibadiHI, ve “HU”vel Hakiymul Habiyr;

It is HU who is the subjugator over his servants (HU discloses Himself from within the depths of His manifestations to rule over His existence)! HU is the Hakim, the Habir. (A.Hulusi)

“He is the Irresistibly Supreme over His servants; and He is the Wise, acquainted with all things.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve HUvel Kahiru fevka ibadiHI, Allah is the Irresistibly Supreme over His servants ve “HU”vel Hakiymul Habiyr and He is the Wise, acquainted with all things.

Don’t forget this friends, this is the sharpest summart of unity belief. You can see how the tevhid belief comes to life with these words. This is the answer to the question of “O Allah, who are you?” Allah replies, “I am the Absolute Supreme.” Can you notice something? Allah created humanity but He doesn’t ignore their freedom. Allah has respect peoples, His creations freedom. Even the chance of blasphemy is given to mankind. With the condition of living with the consequences of course.

This also carries a lesson for us. A lesson that shows us Allah’s ethichs. A lesson for us, belivers to find our ethics in Allah’s ethics and respect humans free will, humanity freedom. A lesson we should all understand.

19-) Kul eyyu shey’in ekberu shehadeten, kulillahu Shehiydun beyniy ve beynekum ve uhiye ileyye hazel Kur’anu liunzirakum Bihi ve men belag* einnekum le teshhedune enne me’Allahi aliheten uhra* kul la eshhed* kul innema HUve İlahun Vahid’un ve inneniy beriyun mimma tushrikun;

Say, “What thing is greater in evidence?”… Say, “Allah is witness between me and you… This Quran was revealed to me so that I may warn you and whomever it reaches… Do you really testify that there are other gods besides Allah?”… Say, “I will not testify (to this)”… Say, “Uluhiyyah is ONE and indeed, I am free of your associations.” (A.Hulusi)

Say: “What thing is most weighty in evidence?” Say: “Allah is witness between me and you; This Quran hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there are other gods?” Say: “Nay! I cannot bear witness!” Say: “But in truth He is the One God, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul eyyu shey’in ekberu shehadeten Say, “What thing is greater in evidence?”.

Actually, the phrase “Kul” and its derivitives “Kale”, “Ye Kulu” don’t always have the meanings of “Say” or “Declare”. Imagine, visualize, think about this, catch the meaning. All these meanings can come from the same phrase. That’s why kul is firstly a mental state, a perspective.

Take this for example. Kul eyyu shey’in ekberu shehadeten “What thing is greater in evidence, who is the greatest witness of all?” Think about it and answer this yourself.

kulillahu Shehiydun beyniy ve beynekum Say: “Allah is witness between me and you ve uhiye ileyye hazel Kur’anu liunzirakum Bihi ve men belag This Quran hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches.

Did you notice something, dear Qur’an friends? This is the only clear as daylight sentence on this subject in Qur’an. This verse is the answer to the question of many people asked on earth. People who didn’t recieve Qur’an when living; will they be hold responsible from Qur’an.? And here’s the answer. Many people might miss this perspective. This verse hold the final answer to that. No, they won’t be hold responsible from Qur’an.

ve men belaga that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. This part holds the key. They will be hold responsible from something. From the grace that Allah gave them, their nature, mind, will. They will be responsible from they they have given. What they have recieved.

So if this message couldn’t reach them, who will be responsible from that? People who were supposed to deliver the message but don’t. They are the targeted group on this. It’s only natural from what we have read.

ve uhiye ileyye hazel Kur’anu liunzirakum Bihi ve men belag so, Belega is very important here. Enam /19. This Quran hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. You and people like you. So people who put their faith on Qur’an, remember. You have the responsibility of carrying the words of Allah too. Don’t try to pin your responsibilities to people who don’t get the Qur’ans message just because you avoid to deliver it to them. This is a cheap attitude. You think people should be responsible even when others deliberately put them in dark, but those who put that darkness should be free from the responsibility? No.

einnekum le teshhedune enne me’Allahi aliheten uhra Do you really testify that there are other gods besides Allah? A great logic pattern. First the question comes. Who is the greatest witness? Then gives his own witness by saying? My witness is Allah. Now the counter. So if you are honest in your claims, if you really believe it, whatever you believe in, then bring forth yout witness. I bring the power I believe in, show me your witness and his power. Can you do it?

It’s like they fall in to their traps. They are ambushed by their own logic. A great pattern, like I said.

einnekum le teshhedune enne me’Allahi aliheten uhra Do you really testify that there are other gods besides Allah? kul la eshhedu and say this. “I don’t. I don’t testify for something like this.”

..ya’rifunehu kema ya’rifune ebnaehum.. (Baqarah/146)  They recognize the truth like they recognize their own children.

I translated this part as truth. The Hu word represents the concept of “what”. This creates a problem for simple translation. Almost all old translators gives the word “Hu” the meaning of Prophet Muhammad. It’s like, “They recognize Rasulallah like they recognize their own children.” Even some over the top translations bring meanings like, “They don’t even recognize their own children so that they can know Rasulallah.” But I think that’s a bit far away from the intended meaning. Also I don’t thing this is about Rasulallah at all, this verses content. Because neither the previous or the next verse is about Rasulallah, it’s about celestial. It’s about Allah’s might. So if we take the meaning in the concept of what, it leads us to the truth.

The same thing happened in Baqarah/146 which I gave earlier. The same word is used there and some translators indicated that it represents Rasulallah but in reality the verse was about the truth on the direction of Kibla. So, the best case of proof is the content of the verse as always. What do we talk about? What is the message of the verse. If it was about Rasulallah then fine, but it’s not. It’s about the celestial truths. Moving on.

kul innema HUve Ilahun Vahid’un ve inneniy beriyun mimma tusrikun; Say: “But in truth He is the One Creator, and I truly am innocent of your blasphemy of joining others with Him.”

20-) Elleziyne ateynahumul Kitabe ya’rifunehu kema ya’rifune ebnaehum* elleziyne hasiru enfusehum fehum la yu’minun;

Those to whom We have given the knowledge of the reality know him (Muhammad saw) just like they know their own sons… Those who have lost their selves, they are not of the believers. (A.Hulusi)

Those to whom We have given the Book know this as they know their own sons. Those who have lost their own souls refuse therefore to believe. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Elleziyne ateynahumul Kitabe ya’rifunehu kema ya’rifune ebnaehum Those to whom We have given the Book know this as they know their own sons.

elleziyne hasiru enfusehum fehum la yu’minun; Those who have lost their own souls refuse therefore to believe. We had studied this elleziyne hasiru enfusehum topic. People who lost themselved refuse to believe. Because faith is all about possessing a will. How can a person believe if he hasn’t understand or find himself to begin with. According to them, you don’t exist. You are representing nothingness. Believing is existing. Believing is giving meaning to existence. It is so important that if a person believe the truth, he makes himself the biggest favor. So how can a person accept other existences if he doesn’t even believe his existence. Hope that I could explain.

 21-) Ve men azlemu mimmeniftera alellahi keziben ev kezzebe Bi ayatiHI, innehu la yuflihuz zalimun;

Who does more wrong than he who lies about Allah or His existence in His signs (the manifestations of His Names)? Most certainly, the wrongdoers (dualists) will not attain liberty. (A.Hulusi)

Who doth more wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or rejecteth His Sings? But verily the wrong-doers never shall prosper. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve men azlemu mimmeniftera alellahi keziben ev kezzebe Bi ayatiHI Who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Signs?

If we think this throuth with the explanations above, you realize the depths of the slander against Allah by a person. What makes a thing a slander against Allah? Actually people who do these kinds of things have no intention of slandering. They think they have an excuse. So let’s keep going. innehu la yuflihuz zalimun But surely the wrong-doers never shall prosper.

 22-) Ve yevme nahshuruhum cemiy’an summe nekulu lilleziyne eshreku eyne shurekaukumulleziyne kuntum tez’umun;

The time when we gather them all together and ask the dualists, “Where are the partners you assumed existed besides Him now?”… (A.Hulusi)

One day shall We gather them all together: We shall say to those who ascribed partners (to Us): “Where are the partners whom ye (invented and) talked about?” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve yevme nahshuruhum cemiy’an One day shall We gather them all together summe nekulu lilleziyne eshreku eyne shurekaukumulleziyne kuntum tez’umun and ask the dualists, “Where are the partners you assumed existed besides Him now?”

Back then I must cut my explanation short in order to continue it here. The reference here is about everything that are waited for help in Afterlife. These things or people are believed to be the source of help in afterlife. Whether it’s a saint, evliya, holyness, scholar, hodja or someone or something else should take us and deliver us to heavens.

This is the response for that. A clear answer. I won’t add or sustract anything. You can read it as it is. The context here is an objection for any independent from Allah helper in Allah’s domain. That’s why it is said that, any form of salvation helper mentality, any chosen one or group ideology, all kinds of salvation other that Allah is the targeted group in this verse. Moving on.

23-) Summe lem tekun fitnetuhum illa en kalu vAllahi Rabbina ma kunna mushrikiyn;

They can cause no more provocation other than saying, “By Allah, our Rabb, we were not of the dualists”! (A.Hulusi)

There will then be (left) no subterfuge for them but to say: “By Allah our Lord, we were not those who joined gods with Allah.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Summe lem tekun fitnetuhum illa en kalu vAllahi Rabbina ma kunna mushrikiyn Allah’s assessment is very interesting here. They can cause no more provocation other than saying, “By Allah, our Rabb, we were not of the dualists.” So they are out of plays at that point. No more mischief they can think of. That’s right. There will then be left no subterfuge for them. Qur’an calls their previous actions on earth, subterfuge.

What are their excuses? We weren’t intending to shirq Allah when we walk through that path. Look, look, look…! The similarity with some other false beliefs as we know today is uncanny. Of course not! Of course. Surely they don’t do any of that just to shirq Allah. Just like those people who deitify prophet Enoch’s apostles. They didn’t have any intention of shirq.

Or people who called Jesus as the son of Allah; were they really wish for a second god? Didn’t they know that Jesus was a walking, talking, eatingi drinking of a man. Can Allah be crucified? Hadn’t they know that? They talk about last supper, blood, skin and flesh of Jesus. They were fully aware that a human body have these things. Skin, blood, eat and drink, that sort of things.

They surely know, and christians haven’t been believing Jesus as a full fledged god. But according to Allah, it is what it is. This is the problem. Because you take one of Allah’s personal adjective and try to label it to something without Allah’s permission. You try to transfer Allah’s authority to another being without juristiction. Who are you to do such a thing? What sort of blind dare, what kind of stupid bravery is this? This is the objection to that.

24-) Unzur keyfe kezebu ala enfusihim ve dalle anhum ma kanu yefterun;

Look at how they lie against their own selves and how the things they made up (deified in their imagination) have deserted them now. (A.Hulusi)

Behold! how they lie against themselves! But the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Unzur keyfe kezebu ala enfusihim Look at how they lie against their own selves ve dalle anhum ma kanu yefterun and how the things they made up have deserted them now.

25-) Ve minhum men yestemi’u ileyk* ve ce’alna ala kulubihim ekinneten en yefkahuhu ve fiy azanihim vakra* ve in yerav kulle ayetin la yu’minu Biha* hatta iza cauke yucadiluneke yekululleziyne keferu in haza illa esatiyrul evveliyn;

And among them are some who hear you… But We have placed veils over their hearts (consciousness) and heaviness in their ears (comprehension) so they cannot perceive Him! No matter how many proofs they see, they will still not believe… Moreover, when the deniers of the reality who argue with you come to you, they will say, “This is nothing other than fairytales of the past.” (A.Hulusi)

Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the Signs, they will not believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: “These are nothing but tales of the ancients.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve minhum men yestemi’u ileyk And among them are some who hear you. They pretend like they hear you. This is more accurate for this situation. ve ce’alna ala kulubihim ekinneten en yefkahuhu But We have placed veils over their hearts blocking them to reach the truth. No need for further explanation. ve fiy azanihim vakra and heaviness in their ears so they cannot perceive Him! Vakran means weight. It can be translated as blocking the earway. But in metaphorical means deafness against the intented message. We had studied a similar passage in Baqarah/7 so I continue.

ve in yerav kulle ayetin la yu’minu Biha No matter how many proofs they see, they will still not believe. This sentence explains what an irrational obsession, denial is.

hatta iza cauke yucadiluneke yekululleziyne keferu in haza illa esatiyrul evveliyn; Moreover, when the deniers of the reality who argue with you come to you, they will say, “This is nothing other than fairytales of the past.”

How you look sets the frame of how you percieve. How can a sheep understand a cry for help? This is a matter of perception. That’s why it’s important how you listen. So listen with their hearts, others with their ears, some even listen with their stomachs, believe me. This is a problem of perception.

Some look at an apple and remember Allah and how magnificent artist Allah really is. Some look at the same apple and only think of eating it. This is perception, the matter of point of view.

26-) Ve hum yenhevne anhu ve yen’evne anhu, ve in yuhlikune illa enfusehum ve ma yesh’urun;

They both prevent (others) from Him (the Rasul of Allah saw) and distance (themselves) from Him! They are only destroying their own selves, yet they can not perceive! (A.Hulusi)

Others they keep away from it, and themselves they keep away; but they only destroy themselves, and they perceive it not. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve hum yenhevne anhu ve yen’evne anhu Others they keep away from it, and themselves they keep away. Like I said, this is the obsessive nature of blasphemy. Not only they stay away from the truth but they do everything in their power to prevent others to reach it as well. Stubborn obsessive blasphemy has this double evil.

ve in yuhlikune illa enfusehum ve ma yesh’urun They are only destroying their own selves, yet they can not perceive.

27-) Velev tera iz vukifu alennari fekalu ya leytena nureddu ve la nukezzibe Bi ayati Rabbina ve nekune minel mu’miniyn;

If you could but see when they are confronted with the fire (suffering) how they will say ‘Oh, if only we can go back (to our biological life on earth; as biological life is required to activate the forces within the brain) and not deny the signs of our Rabb (our intrinsic divine qualities and potential deriving from the Names that comprise our essential reality) and be among the believers’. (A.Hulusi)

If thou couldst but see when they shall be made to stand by the Fire! They will say: “Would that we were but sent back! Then would we not reject the Signs of our Lord, but would be amongst those who believe!” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Velev tera iz vukifu alennari If you could but see when they are confronted with the fire. How they line up in front of hell.

fekalu ya leytena nureddu ve la nukezzibe Bi ayati Rabbina ve nekune minel mu’miniyn If you could but see when they are confronted with the fire, how they will say ‘Oh, if only we can go back to our old lives and not deny the signs of our Rabb and be among the believers’. They might say that after all things done but there’s no salvation in that. Just like Allah knows what they said before, Allah knows well that even if that happens, they will say the same thing and do the same thing.

 28-) Bel beda lehum ma kanu yuhfune min kablu, ve lev ruddu leadu lima nuhu anhu ve innehum lekazibun;

But that which they concealed before (the knowledge of the reality with which they had been endowed) has now become apparent to them. And even if they were returned they would return to the things from which they had been forbidden, they are liars indeed. (A.Hulusi)

Yea, in their own (eyes) will become manifest what before they concealed. But if they were returned, they would certainly relapse to the things they were forbidden, for they are indeed liars. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Bel beda lehum ma kanu yuhfune min kablu Yea, in their own eyes will become manifest what before they concealed. They carry this fear in their hearts. “Is it real, this afterlife; will we be resurrected again?” There’s not a single denier which doesn’t carry this doubt in his heart. So this doubt becomes real when all things are concluded. So they see and so they say these words.

ve lev ruddu leadu lima nuhu anhu But if they were returned, they would certainly relapse to the things they were forbidden. Can anyone knows better that Allah? This is what it is. Don’t think they believe when they see the suffering. If they have a chance to go back, they would certainly do it all over again.

Here ve innehum lekazibun for they are indeed liars. They make lying their own natures.

Dear friends, this is the most crushing expression of how a denier acts with his feelings and desires, not with his mind and knowledge. There’s no translation for this. A denier chooses this path so mind and knowledge are no longer in the picture. He follows only his desires and instincts.

29-) Ve kalu in hiye illa hayatuned dunya ve ma nahnu Bi meb’usiyn;

And they say, “There is none but our worldly life! Our lives will not continue (we will not be resurrected)!” (A.Hulusi)

And they (sometimes) say: “There is nothing except our life on this earth, and never shall we be raised up again.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve kalu in hiye illa hayatuned dunya ve ma nahnu Bi meb’usiyn And they say, “There is none but our worldly life! Our lives will not continue and we will not be resurrected!”

30-) Velev tera iz vukifu ala Rabbihim* kale eleyse haza BilHakk* kalu bela ve Rabbina* kale fezukul azabe Bi ma kuntum tekfurun;

If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Rabb (when they recognize and become aware of the potentials of the Names within their own reality). He will say, “Is this not the reality?” They will say, “Yes, it is our Rabb.” He will then say, “So now taste the agony as the consequence of denying the knowledge of the reality.” (A.Hulusi)

Velev tera iz vukifu ala Rabbihim* kale eleyse haza BilHakk If you could but see when they shall be made to stand before their Rabb! He will say: “Is not this the truth?”

“Esselamu aleykum.”
